Who can apply?
Pregnant women and mothers with a child up to 24 months of age, with legal custody.

How long can I stay?
Programs typically last 12 months to 2 years, depending on your goals and progress.

What support will I receive?
Essentials for children (diapers, wipes, formula, clothing, baby gear)
Essentials for moms (toiletries, feminine products, maternity/postpartum supplies)
Case management and personalized support plans
Parenting and life-skills training (budgeting, cooking, childcare, etc.)
Career and education guidance
Referrals to healthcare, counseling, and community resources
Childcare support during programs and events
Weekly mentorship and encouragement from caring volunteers
Access to community events (e.g., Mommy Showers, resource fairs)
A supportive environment to build confidence and stability

Do I have to pay rent?
Some transitional homes are free. In others, moms may contribute a small program fee after securing employment.

Can my partner or older children live with me?
Housing is only for moms and children under 2. We’ll connect you to resources for other children or family needs.

What items can I donate?
Diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, baby clothes, maternity wear, gently used baby gear, household items, and monetary gifts.

Yes! GenaShaes House is a registered nonprofit.

Can my church, business, or group host a drive?
Yes—diaper drives, baby showers, and fundraising events make a big impact.

How will my donation be used?
Funds and goods directly support housing, food, education, and services for moms and their babies.

Child Care assistance, mentoring, administrative tasks, donation sorting, or event planning.

Do I need training?
Yes. Volunteers receive orientation and program guidelines.

Absolutely. Group service projects and event support are welcome.

What's your vision?
We envision a world where no mother has to choose between safety and survival—where every woman, no matter her story or income, has access to stable housing and the resources needed to rise. A world where babies are born into love, and mamas are surrounded by a village that sees them, believes in them, and helps them soar.
