New Paragraph
At GenaShaes House, we aim to support young pregnant women during and after their pregnancy, provide a secure home for their child to grow in, and the chance to pursue their education or career goals, frequently interrupted by poverty and childbirth.
GenaShae House's vision is a world where all women and their babies can access safe and affordable housing with resources to provide for themselves and their children regardless of their economic status.
Our Hampton Roads community-based maternal group homes are designed to provide shelter and support to homeless pregnant teens and parenting women aged 18 to 30, along with their dependent children under the age of 5.
We foster a community of hope, love, and support for pregnant teens and young moms.
ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
Becoming a teen mom at 15, I understand the complexities that come with not having clear direction or support while navigating life as a young mother. When human beings experience trauma and severe life stressors or financial strain, it's not uncommon for their lives to unravel. My great passion is bringing resources to people experiencing these life stressors.
I know no single approach suits every individual, so I have been trained in various techniques to help address this issue.
I enjoy reading, running, and volunteer work. I serve as Norfolk CASA, volunteer with the Union Mission, Restorative Justice, Samaritan House, and faithfully at my local church.
Bringing about change is most important, and providing stability and resources to others is my passion.
