OUR MISSION
At GenaShaes House, we support young pregnant women during and after pregnancy by providing a safe, nurturing home where their children can grow. We empower them to continue their education or career journey- opportunities often disrupted by poverty and early motherhood.
OUR VISION
GenaShae's House envisions a world where all women and their children have access to safe, affordable housing and the resources needed to thrive, regardless of economic status.
WHO WE SERVE
Our Hampton Roads community-based short term and transitional homes are designed to provide shelter and support to homeless pregnant mothers.
ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
Crystal Stevens
Becoming a teen mom at 15, I understand the complexities that come with not having clear direction or support while navigating life as a young mother. When human beings experience trauma and severe life stressors or financial strain, it's not uncommon for their lives to unravel. My great passion is bringing resources to people experiencing these life stressors.
I know no single approach suits every individual, so I have been trained in various techniques to help address this issue.
I enjoy reading, running, and volunteer work. I serve as Norfolk CASA, volunteer with the Union Mission, Restorative Justice, Samaritan House, and faithfully at my local church.
Bringing about change is most important, and providing stability and resources to others is my passion.
